With four previous title wins, Singapore is the second most successful side in the competition having reigned supreme in 1998, 2004, 2007 and 2012. Hosting the tournament in its entirety for the 2020 edition, the Lions may well be habouring hopes of keeping the illustrious trophy in the island.
Japanese Tatsuma Yoshida is the man charged to bring glory back to Singapore and he will be relying on the very experienced captain Hariss Harun as the leader of the side.
Attacker Ikhsan Fandi is the key player for the Lions. Though young, Ikhsan will no doubt have learnt a lot training and playing with Norwegian side, Jerv.

Malaysia squad
Malaysia have participated in every single one of the AFF Suzuki Cup but have only been champions once, with the 2010 cup-winning squad still commanding a lofty place amongst football fans in the country compared to the heartbreaks of losing in the final in 1996, 2014 and 2018.
Tan Cheng Hoe took over from Eduardo Vingada with the last edition being his very first assignment as the head coach. Tan took the team all the way to the final only to narrowly lose out to Vietnam in the showpiece double header.
Experienced Aidil Zafuan is the one tasked to lead the team but many will be looking at Safawi Rasid to rediscover his form to reclaim his place as one of the best players in the region.

Thailand squad
This will be the first tournament for newly hired head coach Mano Polking who will have a tough ask to live up to the glory days of Thailand in the AFF Championship.
The War Elephants have competed in every single edition of this tournament starting with the inaugural one in 1996 where they emerged as champions. Four more trophies have been won, making them the most successful side in the competition.
Experienced keeper Siwarak Tedsungnoen is the captain but Chanathip Songkrasin is the obvious star of the side having played for a few years in J-League with Consadole Sappore and was a previous Most Valuable Player winner in the AFF Championship.

Myanmar squad
It hasn’t been a tournament to savour for Myanmar thus far and for sure they will be looking to improve on their previous best finish of a semi-final appearance achieved back in the 2004 and 2016 editions.
Antoine Hey returns for his second stint with the national team with the German having already experienced the AFF Championship in 2018 where he finished this in Group A behind Vietnam and Malaysia.
Maung Maung Lwin captains the side with prolific striker Aung Thu who plays for Buriram United these days being the vital cog in the Myanmar side.
